Hey Everyone!
So if you are coming here to get more of an inside scoop on Hero WOD Sunday, then you're in the right place. Hero WODs are CrossFit workouts that are created to honor CrossFitting soldiers, law enforcement officers, etc, who have passed in the line of duty. These workouts are the toughest there are out there, and we will be doing them (or slightly modified versions) for 5 Sundays starting on the 15th of April.
At these seminars/workouts/whatever you would like to call them, we have a few main goals we'd like to accomplish. For those of you who came to our classes last semester, you know how we had a 'community' of sorts, at least until our gym was shut down. What we would like to do, starting with these seminars, is to develop our own CrossFit community here at the Naval Academy, improving on what we started last semester.
In addition to these seminars, we have made our blog so that anyone will be able to join in on the community. Starting the night after the first Hero WOD, we will be posting WODs from the mainsite from 2006. Since we will be controlling which workouts are posted, we will be able to go over the movements for the upcoming week on Sundays.
Another cool feature that we added was the ability to track your times for WODs and Seminars, as well as your personal bests on lifts and benchmark workouts. You will be able to compare yourself against others that post their times. Nothing makes you push harder than a little friendly competition--and beating your friends. We hope to see everyone on Sunday at 1400!
